#23 Summarize your thoughts

1. What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey? I think my favorite things were YouTube and finding out about the online productivity tools. I will continue to use these products.

2. How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals? This program has opened my eyes to technology that I would never have known about or used. Whether I continue using all of the stuff I learned, I don't Know. I must say that I'm proud of myself for finishing because I was wondering if I was going to meet the deadline.

3. What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept? The one thing that I did not like was when I would click on a tutorial and it's link was no longer available.

4. If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again chose to participate? It depends.

5.How would you describe your learning experience in a few words or a few sentences, so we can share our successes and promote this program? It took me longer to complete because some of the instructions weren't that clear to me.

#22 Audiobooks

I am familiar with overdrive, I set up my account when I got my IPod only to find out that I couldn't put it on my IPod unless it was burned to a cd first. I found some titles that I would like to check out but I don't want to have to sit at my computer to listen to it. Books in ITunes is a little to pricey for me.

#21 Podcasting

I looked at the various podcasts sites and liked Yahoo Podcast the best. I also use Itunes to subscribe to podcasts.

#20 YouTube

This one was actually fun to do and took no time since I'm very familiar with YouTube. I use this site when I miss and episode of my favorite shows and the network doesn't offer their site. I usually can find it on YouTube. I had missed the last episode of Hells Kitchen this Year that announced the winner and was able to find it in Youtube. You can find some really good stuff here.

#19 Web 2.0 Awards

I actually have used quite a few of the award winners. So I tried one that I wasn't familliar with which was Pandora. Liked this site because I can select the music that I want to listen to. If I don't like the song then I can click on it not to play again. I have also used Zillow to check to see the value of houses and what they are selling for in my neighborhood.

#18 Online Productivity (Zoho Writer)

I am writing this blog entry using Zoho Writer, I really like this program and all of its features. I actually imported my sons football scores from his rec program into the Zoho spreadsheet. I find this to be very usefull because our program publishes the weekly scores on the leagues website, but if you don't have Microsoft Office you can't see this information. This would be great to use for that purpose and share it on this site, as long as it is tagged properly to find.

#17 Sandbox Wiki

I added my blog to Harford County's page. Was a little confused about the steps on how to do it but received help from Angelique and Debbie. Thank you very much ladies.

#16 Wiki's

I'm not a big fan of Wiki's because of the idea that anybody can post information. My son last year had this obscure assignment for science class and the only place I could find the information was on Wikipedia. I chose not to use the information since I could not verify that it was true, and sent a note to the teacher. I have heard things on television were people have put incorrect information on a entertainers page, this is why I'm not a big fan of wikipedia. I think the library could use a wiki to post their upcoming programs on and also book groups could use them to post future reads for their group discussions.

#15 Web2.0/Library 2.0

I have been working for the library for 27 years, in those 27 years I have witnessed a great deal of technology change. When I first started working for the library we checked books out with date due cards and a machine that took a picture of the date due card and book. Look were we our now, we have computers to check the books out. As for all the new technology that is out there, it is a must that staff know about these items to be able to help the public with information when they come in. I thought the Technology Fair was a good idea for the staff because they are some things that I am not savvy on and have questions about because my kids use these sites and I'm not that familiar with them (my space).

#14 Technorati

I did not praticularly care for Technorati. I was a little confused about were I was to do the search for Learning 2.0 but just by luck clicked on advance search. I got more under blog posts for learning 2.0

#13 Del.icio.us

Ok. first of all the tutorial was disabled, the other link was so blurry I couldn't watch it anymore. I registered for an account and loaded Del.icio.us onto my toolbar. Saved a couple sites into it.

#12 Rollyo

Today I explored the use of 'Rollyo'. I find this to be a very useful tool. I did a search for replacing the grout around my tub, and was impressed with the good sites that came up with information on how to do this.
